Sliding gate repair and rail replacement

I was call out to install a gate motor for a client who had it service repaired by Centurion Systems. Innitial request from the client was to “reinstall” the motor. This is what I found and this is what I repaired.

The gate is huge and a Centurion D10 was installed or put there and it broke down several times within the 18 months it was installed.

This is what I found – and immediatly spotted all the problems with the current installation.

That gate was difficult to move, it did not move when I got there.

The gate rail and the gate installation was all wrong and did not accomodate automation. In order to have a reliable gate motor, you need a gate moving freely with no obstruction or difficulty to move. a heavy gate requires a solid rail with solid foundation. In the image you see an angle iron with 12mm rodd welded on top was used – the rail is to weak for the gate and caused issues.

I Replaced the whole rail with solid IPE (I beam) and the correct rollers. Also reposition the gate to leave sufficient space for the rack to pass the inside wall

16mm round bar and radius cut wheels

Perfectly installed to last a life time.
