Gate motor product reviews – Please feel free to share your thoughts.
As an installer I am in the perfect position to review the Vantage Swing motors from Centurion Systems. Today we installed another double swing system. The Vantage range was introduced almost 3 years ago in 2015 and has not since then let me or my customer down. It’s a good solid design. It will require a qualified technician for installation. If not installed correctly it WILL give you endless problems.
Controller: Enclosed in a weather proof box and visible status LED (if connected). The LCD makes it easy to program and fault finding. System diagnostics can be viewed by pushing a few buttons.
I really could not find anything that bothers me about the Vantage range – Except the price. It is expensive but it’s worth every cent. Improvement I would like to see – More solid clutch release.
All over Good Product. Highly recommended.

ET Systems is really improving on product Quality and Affordability.
The new ET DC Blue Roll up kit Impressed me the 1 st time I installed it. One of the better improvements to this kit will be the Illumination from 3 very bright on board LED’s. This means that unlike it’s predecessor you don’t have to worry about changing lamps. Always on, and one less issue concerning maintenance. This ranks highly for me.
Another upgrade on this model is the integration of electronic rev counting to replace mechanical limit switches. Mechanical anything WILL fail, it’s only a matter of time. Big thumbs up to ET Systems.
Let’s look at affordability – it beats the competition hands down. The price comes in at an avg of 20% less than any other Brand.
It’s a new concept controller – It will need to be given some time out in the real world to be ranked in the longevity department. Any call backs on newly installed units are recorded an notarized. -I will report on that in due time.
Looking at the initial programming of this kit. It’s a whole new concept packed with plenty of functions. It is a tricky ordeal for the consumer and 1st time installer. Experienced installers will have no problem catching on how to do the over all setup. There is on little concern I have with this kit. The Limit learning procedure enforces STOP limits to find open and close positions – This on a roll up door is does not pan out. To the USER it will be nightmare to install.
I will keep this review updated as time goes on.

Let’s start with some technical specifications relevant to the Avarage Joe, the D5 is rated to oparate gates up to 500kg. Me personally will never make a machine work at max capacity. The D5 Evo will serve a long time if max gate mass is kept under the 350kg mark. The D5 is perfect for residential use and perhaps lite traffic. I like the LCD on top of the controller and it does make fault finding easy for every one. The main battery in the D5 Evo under normal to heavy use will need replacing every 2nd year or so. The D5 Evo is very popular – To me it’s a bit over rated and Expensive. Why would you pay for features and functions if not ever to be used? Another concern is how expensive replacement parts are.
Overall – Good Quality, Good after sales and technical backup with the avg 24 month warranty.
